Lawyer Amanda Clinton is one of the aspirants to contest the GFA elections. Seven individuals have filed their nominations to contest for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Presidency.  The seven nominees are; Mr George Afriyie, Mr Kurt Okraku, Mr Wilfred Kwaku Osei Palmer, Nana Yaw Amponsah, Mr George Ankamah Mensah, Mr Kojo Yankah and Madam Amanda Clinton.  According to the Normalisation Committee of the GFA, the list of the vetted and qualified candidates will be published on October 10, 2019.  The successful candidates would then head to the polls on October 25.  See the photographs of the seven nominees who submitted their nominations before the close of nominations on Friday, September 20 below;  Source:  Graphic.com.gh

Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe recounts how plans to overthrow Kutu Acheampong failed

Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, a founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has opened up on how he along with some other military officers planned to overthrow the government of Ignatius Kutu Acheampong.  He revealed how he was recruited shortly after returning from a mission to Middle East to be part of the plan to overthrow the then government but their plan failed even before it was executed.  He explained he was convinced to join the plot by a promise of the initiator, Col George Minyila, that they will run the government for a short period after the coup  “Discussions were going on, we’ve been attending meetings with the aim of overthrowing Acheampong but one thing he said that even got me more interested in war was that, with the removal of Acheampong, our stay as a government will be very brief and quickly bring in a civilian government. Bombs and guns factory uncovered inside popular hospital at Alajo

The covert activities of bombs and guns manufacturing syndicate inside a popular hospital within the Accra suburb of Alajo has been uncovered by a joint Police-Military-National security operation, MyNewsGh.com reports. Constructing a film village is a waste of time - Actress Portia Asare

Kumawood actress, Portia Asare has kicked against the building of a film village in Ghana to help the movie industry.  According to Portia, government constructing a film village in Ghana is unnecessary.  She revealed this in an exclusive interview with Zion Felix on the ‘Uncut Show’.  Portia Asare argued that filmmakers in the country need more theatres to showcase their movies and not a film village.  She also bemoaned that the name “Film Village” sounds very nice but it won’t be beneficial at the moment.
