A deputy National Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ruth Seddoh has said the irate Muslim youth who attacked and destroyed Church properties of Rev Isaac Owusu Bempah were rather too peaceful and could have done more, MyNewsGh.com has filed.

The NDC Youth leader is, therefore, recommending special training from Afghanistan for all Muslims in Ghana because such a training “will help them a great deal”.

Angry Zongo youth (believed to be mostly Muslims) in Accra yesterday afternoon stormed the church premises of Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah over his prophesy that National Chief Imam Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu will die this year as MyNewsGh.com first reported.

The cutlass-wielding youth numbering about 15 were seen breaking the church billboards at the entrance of the Odorkor Branch and shouting insults at Owusu Bempah in the Hausa language. They vowed to teach him a lesson for “touching their Imam”, brandishing cutlasses as they thronged into the church.

They entered the church and destroyed church properties.

Reacting to the development, Ruth Seddoh who is NDC Deputy National Youth Organizer said the conduct of the Muslim Youth was rather peaceful.

“Anokwa, Ghanaian Muslims are too peaceful. Some training from Afghan will help a great deal” she wrote.

Chief Imam begs Youth

The National Chief Imam has reacted to the news of the attacks. He called on Muslims in Ghana to refrain from attacking the leader of Glorious Word Ministry, Rev Isaac Owusu Bempah.

According to him, “we are living in peace with fellow Christians and other religion so let’s maintain that relationship. Leave him with his character and forgive him. As for death every soul shall taste it either today or tomorrow so no need to attack the man”.

“Please leave him and forgive him, I am begging you, I am begging you,” he added.

The hallowed University of Oxford took the top spot for the fourth year in a row, with its traditional rival the University of Cambridge dropping to third place behind the California Institute of Technology.  Switzerland was the only country outside the United Kingdom and North Am...
