‘Broke’ Asamoah Gyan

Last year, Asamoah Gyan claimed he was broke. But many Ghanaians say he is trying to play smart to avoid settling his wife. The law may require him to settle his wife and children heavily in the event of a divorce or annulment as his lawyers put it.

Gifty Gyan met the real ‘broke’ Asamoah Gyan in 2002 when he was with Liberty Professionals and unknown. They cohabited for 11 years and gave birth to their first son Frederick. They officially married in 2013 gave them to two more children. They have been married for 5 years, making a total of 16 years before their divorce controversy emerged.

Asamoah Gyan questioned the paternity of the children. A DNA test conducted on the couple and the kids revealed they are all his.
